3. Devil in the Details
As the investigation into the limo crash unfolds, major bureaucratic failures begin to emerge. The limo failed multiple inspections, received multiple out of service violations, and was ordered off the road three times before the crash. Yet somehow, it still had a valid registration, and was still on the road.

On October 6, 2018, a white Ford Excursion stretch limousine barreled down a hill in Schoharie, New York. Going 100 miles per hour, it plowed through an intersection and into the parking lot of a busy country restaurant. It slammed into a parked car before crashing violently into a ditch. All 17 passengers, the driver, and 2 bystanders died. For those who witnessed the crash, the specter of tha...

    Having worked in the transportation industry, I can say that the general public does not want to know how many buses & limo's have failed DOT and/or state inspection that are still being used to transport people. When a vehicle fails an inspection, there is nothing attached to the vehicle that shows it can't be used to transport passengers. It's up to the company to be responsible and repair the vehicle to pass. And this horrific accident shows what happens when an owner is just out to make a buck and truly doesn't care about anything else.

    Nancy also had a sexual relationship with Keith. She sacrificed her daughter Lauren. Keith has info on her thy she is a fraud, and held that over her head. Keith also had her believed that his harem had karmic ties and NOW they needed to atone their Nazi crimes. Nancy made breakfast daily for Keith. She didn’t want to lose everything Keith gave her. Powerful incentive to keep up the ruse.

    I remember a few years back, I was walking towards 7-11 when I looked back to see a cop going full speed without lights and sirens blowing through red light after red light. If I was lazy enough to use my car, I'd follow him at a safe distance while I call local pd to report a police officer driving extremely recklessly blowing through red lights without emergency signals. That cop could have killed someone that night like wtf?? Idc what yall say, but just remember cops are just like us that don't follow the rules except no one will tell them anything..

    I live in the town of Brunswick which borders Troy.That Cumberland Farms is about a mile outside of Troy in Brunswick and several miles from the accident scene, and it is a tough intersection,but why we’re at least two officers far outside their jurisdiction.IF they wanted coffee the Speedway right there is open,McDs is open,no need to go so far out of Troy.

    I remember this For the life of me, I don't understand why this guy was going this fast. I don't think he knew that area. I don't think he knew the roads. He didn't know that road came to that intersection. It was insane that he was driving 100 MPH. WHY was he driving that fast ??!! Was he running late ?? I just get the feeling this was about money. You rent a limo, usually for a number of hours 3 hours is the minimum time that you can rent. 5 or 6 hours is a typical night out. A 10 hour or 12 hour all night would be a long rental. If used to have a CDL and I have driven for car services. If you had a rental for 12 hours, you knew you were going to be there the whole night. Usually a 6 to 6 or 7 to 7 A good company will not rent back to back But some bad companies will book a 6 to 9 and a 9 to midnight, and a midnight to 6 The driver is expected to get the client to end early so you can get to the next client. One of the other things that a bad company will do is exceed the weight limits. The more heads they can sell, the more money they can make. LF is a term that a good company will have on their paperwork and they will ask the weight of each person or use the 250 per head. Limos are custom made by companies, like Imperial, the take a regular vehicle, literally cut it in half, and they weld in a middle section and build a custom top. They will add more doors and more axels. They have a LF So, a standard vehicle of that model might have a maximum LF of 1800 If they add extra springs and an extra axel you can get a higher LF But, you, as the driver, ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO KNOW PHYSICS. You have to know how that specific vehicle drives like empty, and with 300, 600, 900, 1200, 1500, 1800 , maximum LF for that vehicle. The distance to stop is going to increase dramatically with each additional 300 pounds. And the amount of centrifugal force on curves multiplies with the additional weight. In a town where I live now back in the 60s a kid had a muscle car and he drove fast and reckless all the time and he would tell all the kids in school that he could do a hundred miles an hour and make the curve on the main back road going to the school. That road turns to the left and he did make that turn many times with just himself or one other person in the front One afternoon he was boasting to a bunch of kids and they all piled into his souped up muscle car and he had trouble getting it up to 100 mi an hour but he did as he approached the curve and the emergency services and the police will never forget what they saw the tire tracks you could see that he turned the wheels to the left but the force was so great that the car continued straight and you could see the black skid marks from the tires being forced forward but turned sideways and the ruts in the dirt and there was a giant oak tree that was about 100 ft off the road straight ahead and the tracks from the wheels went right into the tree and the car was split and demolished and the two pieces of the car with the two sides with the wheels were spread out in the field behind the tree spreading out for 100 ft after the tree. He had eight kids in the car and they were all killed And anyone who is a professional driver knows that you have to know the weight and the Load Factor of each ride. The backup lights being on doesn't make Sense except that he may have had the car in reverse to slow it down.

    This is just sad all around. Do these intersections not have the white lights alerting drivers to emergency vehicles? This is the second time I've seen an accident happen and both times it seems the driver who was hit had no idea despite everything. That was really great to show how that building created such a blind intersection. This was put together really well. I saw most people in the comments blaming the officer but I'm not going to because i don't know their actual rules or protocols, and some people said "well the other cops would get there first so it's not even important for him to be there fast" but i can't agree with that. Domestic violence needs to be taken seriously and is one of the more dangerous calls cops can go to. I don't know what the 911 call said, i don't know if it was multiple victims in danger, idk if someone was being held hostage or being actively assaulted or if the address or people involved had a long history of violence and significant injuries. I don't know if there were known to be weapons on premise, if there were any vulnerable adults or children present or involved, if there were any severe mental health issues that could lead to a danger at large to not just the victim(s) but even the community at large. I don't know if the location was an apartment and if a gun was involved which could endanger neighbors through thin walls... I don't know any actual context on that specific call or the history of anyone or anywhere involved. I just know that many people have been killed due to domestic violence, and it's not always the direct or primary victim of the assault. I don't know if the 2 squads ahead of him were Able or Baker-- if able then he needs to be there to be proper backup. I know some people said he should've slowed at the intersection and that may have been preferable but idk if the other cops did or not. I don't know if his sirens were blaring or what. It just seems like such a sad complete accident. My condolences to everyone involved. I know for me those white lights have been a godsend. You're ever in a situation like the victim was where you genuinely cannot see but you see the white lights it helps me pause and know where to look. That way it just gives a little extra safety net and knowledge to the regular drivers to help with whatever is going on with the emergency services. I'm so sorry to his family for the loss and I'm so sorry to everyone including the officer at that accident because I'm sure it was traumatizing

    Remember, folks, this was over a call. There was no need to go through red lights at that speed ever, let alone just for a call when you put members of the public's lives in danger and end up maybe taking a life going to that call, what good do you serve? Now? You have become. The person taking a life because of that call. Where someone yeah could be in danger, possibly one in a million. Now you became the person that night that took a life because you went through a blind intersection at a high rate of speed with your lights and sirens going just because you thought you could. Mayor's city council members governors put a stop to this ignorance. This is boys and sometimes even older men, not using good judgment.You can't save lives and take lives at the same time and call yourself a service to the community. The wrong that you do, which I consider evil, cancels out any good that you might do.

    What about in the event of a mass shootout? It's like she's oblivious to this day and age. A flip phone is going to make it so that it's extremely difficult for a child to text 911 in the event of an emergency and they can't speak due to a danger present. I just don't think that putting your political agenda before common Sense is practical.

    Officer Byrne is not at fault for driving 78 MPH through a red light. It is his right right as an officer. State law permits law enforcement officers to disregard all traffic laws. Sabeeh Alalkawi is at fault for choosing to drive that night. It was this choice that caused the accident. The officer should sue his family for damages.

    That 5 pound toll in 2003 is 15 pounds today, due mainly to inflation, so by your argument, we in NYC should start at 15 pounds or about $18....?

    • @alexmatthiessen3612
      @alexmatthiessen3612 20 днів тому

      The other fundamental flaw to the Gov.'s fraudulent argument is that (a) the vast majority of the 120,000 daily drivers who will pay this toll are not "the little guy" or anything close to that; they're largely middle to upper class drivers plus businesses, most of whom can easily afford the new toll and will benefit economically from it; and (b) and while she claims to have paused to protect NYers who were facing the $15 toll, that's 120,000 daily drivers vs the 6.5 million+ transit users who are going to be hurt much more seriously by the lack of investment in transit - to say nothing of the asthma sufferers and scores of pedestrians and cyclists who are hit and killed by cars each year. In sum, Gov. Hochul chose to protect 120,000 mostly affluent drivers and hung out to dry 6.5 million mostly lower and middle income NYers who rely on the MTA's mass transit system. So did you, Gov., really pause CP to protect the little guy, or did you flip flop to shore up your base of white, suburban voters in order to improve your election prospects in 2026? The answer is obvious to anyone with half a brain. And it's why most people hate politics and politicians - at least those who choose self service or public service. Reminds me of a certain orange-haired former president and current felon we know...

  • @user-kz5xf7gh5e
    @user-kz5xf7gh5e 22 дні тому

    Saddened and disappointed Gov. Hochul is throwing Climate action under the bus. She says she is concerned about costs, but her government’s own plan says the costs of inaction outweig the costs of action by $115 billion. That typical New York family she mentions, of course they don’t want any new costs. But they don’t know how bad climate change is going to affect them and their future. To lead on this, the Governor needs to be a better communicator. But we can’t let her off the hook! She needs to do better!
